|
![]() The Songwriting Collective (TSC) is a group of individuals dedicated to songwriting in the Dublin area. We are based in Rua Red Arts Building in Tallaght. Our goal is to develop the songwriting skills of our members and expand our network both locally and internationally. Each meeting provides those participating an opportunity to engage in activities such as co-writing, discussion and the chance to explore the craft of songwriting across a number of genres. Songwriting circles provide an opportunity for members to receive feedback.. From time to time we run an "Acoustic Room" which gives members a platform to present their songs in public and receive feedback from their fellow members in private.
Other Lifelong Learning InvolvementTCA were previously involved in a Grundtvig project from 2011 to 2013 This was a songwriting project called Playing for Integration Link
One of the outputs from the project was a handbook on how to run effective songwriting workshops. Tony Bardon acted as the editor on this handbook Link The MembersTony Bardon![]() I have been interested in singing and playing music all of my life. However, it is only in more recent years that I had an opportunity to pursue this passion. After I retired from my day job in accountancy, a number of years ago, I qualified and practiced as a coach for a period of time.
My involvement with Grundtvig and Leonardo projects over the past five years has enabled me to become much more involved in songwriting and in music generally. This Leonardo project has provided me with an opportunity to bring together a number of my life skills. The involvement with musicians has been key. I have had an opportunity to see at first hand challenges that are faced by them and this has heavily influenced the content of the Toolbox. I have enjoyed my role as it's creator and editor I mostly play on a not-for-profit basis in community settings. I have a special interest in the poetry of WB Yeats and spirituality. Both have influenced my songwriting in recent years. Shane O'Fearghail
